I am currently investigating mechanical, electronic and optical properties of semiconducting and semimetallic carbon nanotubes under strain.
Methodologies range from simple, empiric transport models using TB-approximations and density functional calculations for the electronic structure up to electronic and excitonic multi-particle-effects (GW-approximation as well as Bethe-Salpeter-equation) for their optical properties. The vision of my work is to provide simple, empirical models for the modeling of strained carbon nanotubes in electronic circuits as well as their optical applications.
In my free time, I enjoy mountain biking, running, climbing, cooking and a lot more.
