Alina participated in the ICMEd Summer School in preparation for the Computational TA position that she will hold in the 2016-2017 academic year as part of the Strategic Instructional Innovations Program award by the College of Engineering to the Materials Science and Engineering department. The program included comprehensive reviews of several computational methods used by materials scientists and engineers in academia and industry, hands-on computational labs where participants interacted with sample computational modules, teaching workshops, a research poster session, and tours of the National Energy Research Scientific Computing Center (NERSC) and the Molecular Foundry at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. The Summer School is funded by the National Science Foundation and operated by the University of Michigan and the University of California, Berkeley.
